A calm Buddha white Jade statue earns Christie’s a whopping $2.3m!

Buddhism is so in the air! After Tiger Woods’s open confession that he is going back to its Buddhist ways, Christie’s has now set its sights high as it brings a rare Buddha idol under the hammer. This rare 18-19 century Qing Dynasty figure of Buddha is crafted in white Jade. Although not a laughing Buddha statue, the piece that was earlier estimated to fetch anything between $150,000 and 200,000, surprised everyone as the hammer came down at $2,322,500 instead!
