Jumping onto the NFT bandwagon is Rimowa! The luxury suitcase manufacturer is all set to give enthusiasts a taste of NFT travel in an exclusive partnership with the multidisciplinary design practice NUOVA.
Marking the brand’s first venture into the NFT space, the collection is titled “Blueprints from the Metaverse.” It is conceptualized by NUOVA and represents the idea of future movement by reimagining airline memorabilia and RIMOWA’s own rich design heritage.
As part of the collaboration, the brands presents four futuristic items- a food cart featuring a vintage mobile dinner service cart, a transparent speaker system designed to be a public announcement system, an austere lamp with a circular glass pane on an aluminum stand, and a telescopic table inspired by airplane bars and lounges of the 1960s.
Commenting on it, NUOVA Co-Founder Rodrigo Caula said, “With this collaboration, we were given carte blanche to create works that showcased RIMOWA’s legacy of craftsmanship but in a radically new context.”
He further added, “As we explored different narratives of where the future of travel could take us, it felt fitting that this collection uses breakthrough blockchain technology that is transforming the way we interact with art and design and how it is accessed and valued.”
