Popular American Youtuber Jimmy Donaldson, aka MrBeast, made his name on the internet with his unconventional and philanthropic stunts, which often include extravagant giveaways and challenges. However, lately, he has been adding a lot of high-octane automotive-themed videos on YouTube for his 184 million subscribers. After destroying a Lamborghini Gallardo with the world’s largest shredder and pancaking another one with a giant hydraulic press, MrBeast brought together a massive collection of cars ranging from a $1 rust bucket to a $100 million museum piece for this latest video.
The video begins with Jimmy and his friends buying a rusted-out automobile for just $1 and then spending $20k to get it into running condition, only to be driven off a cliff. The Youtuber also features the world’s only flying car, Rezvani’s bomb-proof SUV, a bunch of amphibious vehicles, and even a futuristic hydrogen-powered supercar. However, the ones that we are interested in are covered in the last quarter of the 16-minute-long video. Here are some of the rarest and most expensive cars featured in MrBeast’s video:
1. Jay Leno’s $20 million McLaren F1
Celebrated American comedian and talk show host Jay Leno is well-known is famous for his extensive and impressive car collection, which includes some of the rarest automobiles ever made. Located next to the Hollywood Burbank Airport in Los Angeles County, California, Leno’s garage is home to 181 cars and 160 motorcycles estimated to be worth over $52million. However, MrBeast collaborated with Leno to feature one specific car, which also happens to be one of Leno’s favorites. We are talking about his black-colored McLaren F1. After discussing why the McLaren F1 is currently worth a whopping $20 million, the comedian takes Jimmy and one of his friends on a drive in the beautiful supercar that has a staggered three-seat layout inside the cabin. Leno also proudly boasts about the supercar’s 241mph top speed, which is still an unbeaten record for a car powered by a naturally aspirated engine. He also quips about how the car is as old as the YouTuber himself.
2. An ultra-rare pair of Steve McQueen’s Jaguar sports car and a one-off Ferrari roadster
These two classic cars are so expensive and rare that they are locked away as showpieces at the Petersen Automotive Museum in LA, California. But the vlogger teamed up with Donut media and TV personality Beau Boeckmann and managed to convince the museum to lend them the two cars for the video. First of them is Steve McQueen’s 1956 Jaguar XKSS which was used as a daily driver by the legendary Hollywood actor and is estimated to be worth $50 million. The other one is a special Ferrari that was given as a gift by Enzo Ferrari to Henry Ford II and delivered new with the race-oriented 225 engine. The historically important Ferrari is valued at around $30 million. The two automobiles are so expensive and rare that a police escort had to be called in to protect them. However, Boeckmann driving the Ferrari got a little carried away and pushed the sports car a little too hard, resulting in a breakdown. What a shame!
3. The world’s first Ferrari
Obviously, we had to save the best for the last, just the way Jimmy did for his video. And, it definitely is one of the most special automobiles ever to be built and that still exists. It’s the first car in the world to bear the Ferrari name and only two examples were ever made. So you can imagine how incredibly important the car is. The Ferrari 125 S is a race car built in 1947 that is powered by a tiny 1.5-liter V12 capable of producing 118hp. It is estimated to be worth $100 million, making it one of the most expensive cars in the world. The particular Ferrari is so historic and valuable that only a representative from the Petersen Automotive Museum is allowed to drive it. However, that’s not all. The museum had to temporarily close down a bridge for the drive and even had all the potholes filled for the Ferrari 125 S to be driven on the stretch without damaging the vehicle. Wow!
