Fendi collaborates with artist Sarah Coleman on a glow-in-the-dark peekaboo bag collection for 2020 Design Miami

Unapologetically speaking, no luxury brand this year has managed to come up with a collection that makes you want to jump out of your seat and rush to the store. Louis Vuitton did break a few hearts instead by upping their prices, Japanese Marquee Tsuchiya Kaban made fashion senseless by creating a luxury leather handbag crafted to hold a single watermelon. In December 2019 Fendi got thumbs up for unveiling the world’s first fragrance-infused handbags and almost a year later they are back to proving my first statement wrong and offering a line of fabulous handbags with New York-based artists Sarah Coleman. True to the artists’ reputation of turning bore to bold and featureless to fabulous, these limited edition unique pieces mix prints and patterns synonymous with the Italian brand. In fact, they have even managed to throw in a glow-in-the-dark piece to the Italian house’s line of ISeeU bags for Fall/Winter 2020. Silvia Venturini Fendi created three new unique styles. They include an iconic yellow iteration sports embossed FF patterning, while an all-white Nappa leather design is adorned with phosphorescent beads that glow in the dark. Completing the range is a multicolored version arriving with a canvas base.

The designer also brings the magic of the Miami art scene to the store creating an artsy cocktail between Coleman’s art aesthetic and the Fendi DNA by stylishly using fabrics employed to construct handbags and repurposing them to create furniture and making them look completely insane! The Fendi Peekaboo ISeeU bags will launch exclusively at the FENDI Miami Design District Boutique leading up to Design Miami/ slated to take place later this month.
