When you hear the word ‘Ferrari’, what comes to mind? Sleek Italian styling, the wail of a hand-built V12, motorsport legacy going back years, and… custom-made purse? Enter the Ferrari Maranello Clutch, not to be confused with a clutch from a Ferrari 550 Maranello. The Clutch is a small, handheld purse modeled after the Ferrari Daytona SP3 hypercar, first seen on the catwalk at the Ferrari spring-summer 2024 collection show at Milan Fashion Week. Now, Ferrari’s put out a video detailing the making of the Clutch purse and it’s nothing short of artistry, akin to the production cycle of a Ferrari supercar itself.

Inspired by the limited-edition, 840-horsepower Ferrari Daytona SP3 hypercar, the Clutch resembles the Daytona SP3 speed form with its classic mid-engine supercar shape. In a way, the Clutch looks like the pieces of car-shaped moulds that are used to illustrate a carmaker’s paint options. Rest assured, the Clutch is much more than that.

Now available in a made-to-order arrangement, the Clutch can be specified in up to 15 different exterior colors, four Alcantara linings, and the option to engrave your initials. Ferrari says only nine will be made of each color, and the color options change each season, so the Clutch is highly exclusive as well.

Pricing has not been specified but a Clutch was listed for a little under $4,000, so it’s possible final prices with customizations could be higher. However, as Ferrari special editions command a much higher price, a Maranello clutch studded with 15,000 Swarovski crystals was auctioned for $100,000 at a Ferrari gala dinner this year.

Ferrari even built a limited run of nine Clutch purses modeled after Ferrari F1 driver Charles Leclerc’s personal Daytona SP3, mirroring his car’s color scheme and livery — one of which was autographed by Leclerc. Considering the Daytona SP3 is the first non-hybrid, mid-mounted Ferrari since the Enzo, it’s a special car indeed. If you can’t afford one, the Clutch could be the next best thing.
