Chocolates from Switzerland (a.k.a. Swiss chocolates) are known to be pricey. However, in smashing all records, the country is now proud to present you with the most expensive variety of the decadent nibble that costs a whopping $646 (or 640 franc) for a bar weighing 80f grams! Yes, that’s right!
Christened ‘Attimo’, the lush bar is created by master chocolatier – Alain Mettler in Kriens (LU). It is made from Grand Cru chocolate and boasts 68% of rich cocao, a pinch of saffron, exotic orange crisps, and a crunchy biscuit.
Given its hefty price, it’s a hardly a wonder that the chocolate consists of the most carefully picked ingredients. The cocoa used in the bar comes from the small village of Chuao, Venezuela, where it has been cultivated for 400 years whereas its saffron comes from the village of Mund, in Valais and is known to be one of the most exotic of its varieties.
Commenting on the premium chocolate bar, Mettler in a statement said, “You really need to let it melt in your mouth and then you will taste the natural flavors or grapefruit, lemon, tobacco. It’s a really experience. It’s not just a bar of chocolate.”
‘Attimo’ is now listed in the Guinness Book of Records as “the world’s most expensive chocolate”. Fancy, sampling this luxurious sweetness yourself?
