Fancy some donkey cheese? At £880 per kilo this is the world’s most expensive cheese.

Goat cheese, cow cheese, buffalo cheese, yak cheese, and now the latest entry in the cheese market is donkey cheese. Now hold your horses or rather hold your donkeys because this cheese costs a whopping £880 per kilo making it the most expensive in the world. It is the latest in high-end dining and is said to have exceptional health benefits being high in protein, calcium, and omega 3 fatty acids. It’s low in fat too and has more than 60 times more Vitamin C than regular cow’s milk.

It is going to be a tad difficult for you to lay your hands on donkey cheese as there is only one farm in the world that’s actually producing it – the Zasavica Nature Reserve in Serbia where manager Slobodan Simic creates the cheese from 300 donkeys at the reserve but only around 20 female donkeys produce milk at any one time. Talk about being rare… So rare Novak Djokovic has bought up the entire world’s supply for a year!
