Sometimes films shine, sometimes the movie stars, but once in a blue moon, a one-of-one fine jewelry recreation of the most iconic cinematic weapon of the 21st century gets its turn. Marvel’s marvelous Infinity Gauntlet replica makes its auction debut on December 8, 2026, at Rosewood Abu Dhabi. The 20-inch-tall recreation of Thanos’s Infinity Gauntlet from Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame is a collectible like no other, featuring 170 carats of natural, untreated precious gemstones. Originally unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con in 2022 with a $25 million price tag, the piece comes with jaw-dropping gems and an equally interesting backstory.
The gauntlet was commissioned in 2019 when Adam Mirzoeff, President and CEO of prestigious New York gemstone house East Continental Gems (ECG), spotted a plastic toy Infinity Gauntlet sitting on the desk of a senior Marvel executive. Mirzoeff half-jokingly suggested building a real version set with investment-grade gemstones, reported Arabian Business. It could have been brushed off as an absurd thought, but the bold seldom reject boldness. The pitch became a glistening reality and an official, three-year collaboration that witnessed Marvel Studios sharing the digital design files used to render the gauntlet on screen with East Continental Gems. What is interesting here is that while the precious stones steal the spotlight, the actual metal chassis holding them remains shrouded in mystery. Neither East Continental Gems nor Marvel Studios has publicly disclosed the specific metal composition or the exact weight of the 20-inch-tall structure itself.
Nonetheless, while the chemistry is shrouded in secrecy, the geometry of it all has played wonderfully well. To fit stones in a 20-inch-tall gauntlet, one could not use standard ring-sized stones of 5 or even 10 carats, which are considered large in jewelry. ECG had to source six centerpiece-scale stones, each large enough to anchor a high-jewelry collar necklace, without any heat or clarity enhancements. The six Infinity Stones range from 15 to over 35 carats in different shapes like emerald cut, oval, and faceted. The $25 million East Continental Gems gauntlet boasts the Space Stone as a cushion-cut sapphire, the Reality Stone as an oval-shaped ruby, the Power Stone as an oval-shaped amethyst, the Soul Stone as a spessartite garnet, and the Time Stone as a rare emerald. Last but not least is the Mind Stone, which is a yellow diamond sitting right at the center.
Together, the six gems weigh more than 170 carats, none of which are treated or enhanced. Julien’s Auctions CEO Ken Citron said, “Presenting it in Abu Dhabi, as part of the Pop Culture Legends auction, gives it a stage worthy of what it is: a true 1-of-1.” The gauntlet will tour Bahrain throughout November, accompanied at auction by full gemological certification, its original fitted presentation case, and a certificate of authenticity signed by Jim Starlin, the writer behind Marvel Comics’ original Infinity Gauntlet storyline. the Marvel Infinity Gauntlet replica will go under the hammer at Rosewood Abu Dhabi on 8 December 2026, as a headline lot in Julien’s Auctions’ Pop Culture Legends Evening Auction.
