Brabus has taken its distinctive approach to luxury performance beyond the road and into the water. After taking the wraps of its first-ever luxury yacht, the AB110, the company has now unveiled an exclusive electric hydrofoil that promises to make riding the waves feel more like flying. Developed in collaboration with Swedish electric watercraft specialist Awake, the Brabus x Awake Shadow Carve combines an 8.2 kW electric drivetrain with a carbon-fiber exterior, striking red accents and an illuminated lighting system. Capable of reaching 28 mph, the hydrofoil is based on Awake’s Vinga Carve platform but receives a bespoke treatment from the German luxury performance brand.

Unlike conventional electric surfboards that propel riders across the surface, the Shadow Carve uses hydrofoil technology to lift the board above the water. An underwater wing attached to an 80-centimeter reinforced mast generates lift as the board accelerates, reducing drag and allowing it to glide above the surface. Its electric propulsion system delivers 8.2 kW of power, with a claimed maximum speed of 45 km/h (approx. 28 mph). The result is a riding experience designed around smooth acceleration, responsive handling and tight turns, with Brabus Performance Mode providing an additional performance-oriented setting.

Visually, the Shadow Carve leaves little doubt about its origins. Its carbon-fiber construction is complemented by red detailing across the hull, mast, battery housing, and deckpad, while the latter features Brabus’s distinctive Triangle pattern for additional grip. One of its more unusual features is an integrated 2,000-lumen red LED lighting system that projects an illuminated carpet onto the water beneath the drivetrain. The effect creates a dramatic visual signature, particularly during sunset and dusk rides, when the moving red illumination follows the hydrofoil across the water.

Awake has also equipped the limited-edition model with its Click-to-Ride wireless technology, which connects the battery, drivetrain and hand controller. Riders operate the board using the Brabus Hand Controller 4, while power comes from the extended-range Flex Battery XR, which offers up to 120 minutes of riding time under optimal conditions. Actual endurance will naturally depend on rider weight, speed, water conditions and riding style. The package also includes the charging equipment, controller, mast and drivetrain, specially branded Cloud Wings and a dedicated board bag.

The Shadow Carve represents the latest development in the partnership between Brabus and Awake, following their 2025 collaboration on the Shadow Explore electric jetboard. While that earlier model was designed to skim across the water, the new creation takes a different approach by lifting its rider above the surface.

The hydrofoil was scheduled to make its public debut at the 2026 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, which runs from October 28 to November 1. Production will be limited to just 77 individually numbered examples worldwide, each carrying a price tag of $20,490. Brabus is positioning the Shadow Carve as an exclusive addition to the recreational equipment increasingly associated with the world’s most luxurious yachts.
