TikToker @narvanato has managed to make headlines accomplishing his mission of going viral. He achieved this by fibbing that Leonardo Da Vinci’s legendary artwork, The Mona Lisa, was stolen. The video, POV: you are in Paris when the Mona Lisa has been stolen,” sparked worldwide furor claiming the $ 870 million Mona Lisa was no longer to be found at The Louvre, Paris. @narvanator, in his video, captured a fleet of police cars rushing by the Arc de Triomphe. @narvanator said: “My friends and I went to the Louvre today to go check out and see what the situation is. And…she’s gone. The Mona Lisa is gone.”
He continued, “We spoke to some of the staff there, they weren’t allowed to say anything so I’ll keep you guys updated when we find out some more.” Of course, the lie had to end and was later followed by another video offering clarification to the outlandish claim. Crying wolf certainly helped the TikToker rake in a whopping 6.4 million views.
The comments on the video were as interesting as the online prank. One shocked user wrote, “I didnt see TikTok for 2 hours and the mona lisa got stolen!?!?.” several users joked that ‘Gru’ – the bad guy in The Minions film franchise could be responsible, referencing a plotline in last year’s film. The most well-known artwork is safely framed in the historical museum, which millions of visitors flock to see.
