Aston Martin has unveiled the DB12 S, a more potent version of its acclaimed grand tourer that pushes the boundaries of what a super tourer can achieve. The new flagship produces 700 horsepower from its twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8, 20 hp more than the standard DB12, and sprints from 0–60 mph in just 3.4 seconds. Carbon-ceramic brakes now come standard, cutting 60 lbs of unsprung weight while improving stopping power. Pricing is expected to start around $270,000 for the coupe and $290,000 for the Volante convertible, with deliveries beginning in early 2026.
Central to the DB12 S experience is its re-engineered exhaust system, developed to give the car a voice worthy of its performance. Aston Martin’s engineers refined the system from the manifolds back, producing a deeper, more resonant soundtrack that builds intensity as revs climb. An optional titanium system elevates every note further, increasing volume, reducing weight by 25 lbs, and adding a richer tone that makes the DB12 S sound as special as it feels.
Visually, it’s distinguished by a dual-element front splitter, bonnet louvres, quad exhaust tips, and a fixed rear spoiler that enhances downforce. Inside, red anodized controls, S badging, and bespoke leather or Alcantara trim underline its exclusivity. Mechanical refinements run deeper than the headline power figures.
Gearshift times are cut by over 50 percent, while updated Bilstein dampers, anti-roll bars, and geometry changes deliver greater precision without sacrificing the refinement expected from a DB model.
The S badge carries serious weight in Aston Martin’s history. The tradition began in 1953 with the DB3S road racer and continued through models like the Vanquish S, V8 and V12 Vantage S, and the Rapide S over the decades. The DB12 S joins the recently introduced DBX S and Vantage S in reviving this performance-focused lineage.
In every sense, this new DB sharpens Aston Martin’s grand touring formula. It’s lighter, faster, and louder without being in-your-face. With its titanium-tinged soundtrack, the DB12 S proves that in Aston Martin’s pursuit of perfection, emotion still leads the way.
