BMW Lifestyle has partnered with United States-based premium bike manufacturer Specialized to introduce a limited-run bicycle. Dubbed the “Specialized for BMW Turbo Levo FSR 6Fattie,” the special edition all-terrain bike is inspired by the look of the latest-generation BMW X3 and wears an exclusive paint finish in Phytonic Blue, the official colour of the X3. The trail bike features an amazing combination of sporty design and state-of-the-art technologies. It comes with an automatically adjustable telescopic seat post, which along with extra-short chain stays give the bike extremely agile handling.
The bike also has an electric motor with nominal output of 250 watts. The company claims that the motor provides powerful pedal assistance while being barely audible or perceptible and proves to be extremely helpful in tackling long-distance trails and steep slopes that would normally be a struggle with a conventional mountain bike. The motor is powered by a 504Wh battery pack which can be detached from bike and charged separately. A specially developed cable by BMW allows in-car charging from the 12V power socket in the boot without impairing the functioning of the vehicle’s battery. There’s also a purpose-developed mobile application that enhances the riding experience by optimizing the electric motor to ideally match the riding conditions. The Specialized for BMW Turbo Levo FSR 6Fattie is priced at €5,200 (approximately $5860) and will be available from the end of August 2017 at selected BMW Dealers and selected Specialized retailers.
