Mercedes-Maybach has given us our first look at the Ultimate Luxury concept set to make its debut this month at the 2018 Beijing auto show. Along with a video posted on social media, the German automaker has released a design sketch of the concept’s cabin. The interior is wrapped in white quilted leather and features what looks like rose gold accents and blue ambient lighting. The teaser sketch also reveals a simplified yet very sporty dashboard layout. The Vision Mercedes-Maybach Ultimate Luxury demonstrates “how the typical strengths of an exclusive high-end saloon and an SUV can be combined,” the automaker said in a statement.
According to some reports, the Mercedes-Maybach SUV will sit on the same platform as the new GLS and will debut in production form at the Los Angeles auto show before going on sale in 2019. At the Beijing auto show, Mercedes-Maybach will also showcase a matching furniture collection that reflects the design language of the Ultimate Luxury concept and will unveil the very first A-Class sedan. The model that will debut in Beijing is for China, but it will give us a good idea of the A-Class sedan that will make its way to the U.S. later this year.
