After debuting in Mykonos, Uber is bringing its “Go Anywhere” program to Italy, launching Uber Boat and Uber Copter just in time for the summer rush along the Amalfi Coast. Starting every Saturday and Sunday from July 26 through August 24, travelers can charter a private boat or helicopter to take in the coastline from a stunning new perspective. Reservations are recommended starting Wednesday, June 25, and must be made at least 48 hours in advance.
If boats aren’t your thing and you’d rather make a grand entrance from the skies, you can pre-book a private helicopter ride between Sorrento and the island of Capri. The booking process is simple, just use the Uber app to pick an available day. The cost? €250 per person (approximately $285). Flights depart from an exclusive heliport in Sorrento, offering groups of up to six people a luxury ride aboard a twin-engine, twin-pilot helicopter.
Prefer staying close to the waves? Uber Boat will offer private charters for up to 12 guests, setting sail from the Sorrento marina. The four-hour cruises aboard a classic Italian Gozzo 35 come complete with a dedicated skipper, complimentary snacks, and drinks, making it the ideal way to unwind and soak in the Mediterranean sun. According to Virgilio, more than 5 million visitors are expected to descend on the Amalfi Coast this summer, and Uber’s new offerings arrive just in time to help tourists skip the hassle and arrive in style.
Availability for both Uber Boat and Uber Copter will be limited and dependent on weather conditions. Uber Copter flights between Sorrento and Capri are priced at €1,500 per trip (maximum of 6 passengers) or €250 per person.
