Luxury cruising now brings spas, shopping and ultramodern dining experiences to the seas, but last year Asia’s first luxury ship, the Genting Dream upped the ante by bringing on board the Belo Medical Group, a state-of-the-art medical center that offers its patrons a whole host of luxe treatments.
Guests can expect the usual roster of services like Botox injections, volume fillers, and laser hair removal in addition to a number of cutting edge anti-ageing treatments. The treatments were selected to be suitable for a sea voyage. Many of the treatments have a minimal downtime which means guests can still enjoy the cruise and its destinations including Hong Kong, Japan, Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia.
The center’s signature treatment is Thermage a 45-minute treatment that uses radio frequency technology to get your skin to produce collagen and thereby reduces the appearance of wrinkles. Experts recommend Thermage to help firm the jawline and lift the eye area. Results are not instant, but they are worth it. This procedure is usually recommended for the jawline and around the eyes.
A more cruise appropriate treatment is the Instalift which targets crow’s feet, fine lines and tired skin using ultrasound and laser technology. The procedure lasts between 15 minutes and an hour and has no downtime at all.
