Bulgari’s sleek Octo Roma collection just got a serious upgrade with the addition of a long-awaited chronograph

It was in 2012 when Bulgari debuted the Octo line, which has gone on to become the signature collection for the brand over the last decade. While the Octo Finissimo line grabs more attention by continually challenging the horological possibilities and breaking records, the Octo Roma family deserves no less recognition and love from watch enthusiasts. For 2023, Bulgari has updated the Octo Roma line-up by introducing several new models. Amongst others, the one that caught our attention is the Octo Roma Chronograph, which makes its debut in the collection. The newest addition to the collection is available in two versions that offer a choice between a blue or a black dial.

The Octo Roma Chronograph features the line’s signature octagonal shape that takes its inspiration from historical Roman architecture. The stainless steel case measures 42mm wide and 12.4mm. The chronograph pushers are beautifully and seamlessly integrated into the case design. Located between the lugs and the crown guards, they are almost unnoticeable. Additionally, the easy strap change mechanism makes the Octo Roma Chronograph makes it a perfectly versatile timepiece. It only takes a few seconds and a click to switch between a stainless steel bracelet and a rubber strap offered with the timepiece.

The new Octo Roma Chronograph’s dial receives a delicate Clous de Paris pattern like the rest of the updated collection. The three sunburst counters are located at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock, while the date window is located between 4 and 5 o’clock. The dial features metallic indexes and hands filled with SuperLumiNova. Powering the watch is the in-house BVL399 automatic movement that is based on the caliber BVL191 movement and offers a 42-hour power reserve. As for the pricing, the Bulgari Octo Roma Chronograph will retail for €9,900 (about $10,800).
