All of last week, the world news was dominated by events that were happening in Scotland as the people there voted for their possible independence from the United Kingdom. The world watched anxiously, but at the end the referendum ended with a ‘No’ vote with Scotland deciding to stay with the UK. The timing couldn’t have been better for Scottish premium spirits brand Chivas to collaborate with the luxury watch brand Bremont from the UK. It’s not the first time a high-end spirits maker has teamed up with a luxury watch company, and Hublot’s collaboration with Johnnie Walker is the finest example of such an association.
Bremont teamed up with renowned blended Scottish whisky Chivas Regal to design the latest Chivas 12 Made for Gentlemen by Bremont limited edition gift tin alongside 12 collector item ‘Chivalry’ watches to celebrate excellence and precision in luxury. Incorporating the designs and signatures of Bremont’s founding brothers, Nick and Giles English, the limited edition gift tin houses a bottle of Chivas 12 blended Scotch whisky and boldly features deconstructed watch elements to showcase the elegant and complex engineering of Bremont chronometers. A limited edition of 12 pieces in polished steel, the watch will be based on the 43 millimeter wide ALT1-C Classic watch, powered by the BE-50AE, ETA 7750-based movement. It also features a piece of oak cask used in the maturation of whiskies for Chivas Regal, the signature of James and John Chivas etched on the rotor of the timepiece and the Chivas crest subtly embossed on the dial. An engraved copper plate, taken from a retired Scotch whisky copper still, sits on the leather presentation pouch. The Bremont ‘Chivalry’ watches will be auctioned exclusively for charity. To get your hands on one of these, you’ll have to participate in an online auction from 22nd October to 9th November, 2014 via www.chivas.com/bremont. Proceeds will go to The Prince’s Trust Enterprise Programme.
