Vacheron Constantin has debuted an 18k white gold version set with baguette-cut diamonds of the Overseas Tourbillon

Vacheron Constantin has expanded its Overseas collection by introducing a new diamond-encrusted version of the Tourbillon model that was first introduced in 2019. Meet the Overseas Tourbillon High Jewelry, the first timepiece in the watchmaker’s staple series to feature a case crafted out of 18k white gold and bezel adorned with diamonds. The new timepiece maintains the model’s overall design along with its slim profile, which was attained thanks to Vacheron Constantin’s ultra-thin tourbillon movement. Made out of 18k white gold, the case has a diameter of 42.5mm and a thickness of 10.39mm. To protect the movement from magnetism, the timepiece features a soft iron casing ring.

“Baguette-cut diamonds first appeared on certain medieval and Renaissance jewels, but really came into their own at the beginning of the 20th century,” explains Christian Selmoni, Style & Heritage Director of Vacheron Constantin. “They were particularly popular in the Art Deco style and were well suited to new techniques such as the invisible setting.”

The first thing you’ll notice about the new High Jewelry piece is its bezel. While it preserves the signature six-sided design, it is set for the first time with 60 baguette-cut diamonds, adding uniqueness and opulence to the sports watch. Beautifully contrasting the white gold case is the blue lacquered dial with a sunburst finish that features nine white gold hour markers set with baguette-cut diamonds. An aperture located between 5 and 7 o’clock puts the complex tourbillon on display.

The sapphire crystal display caseback offers a view of the ultra-thin automatic tourbillon caliber 2160. Fitted with a 22K peripheral rotor, the 188-part movement measures just 5.65mm in thickness and delivers an impressive 80-hour power reserve. The Overseas Tourbillon High Jewelry comes fitted with an integrated white gold bracelet with a folding clasp. It is also offered with two additional straps – one in blue calfskin rubber and a sportier one in blue rubber. The two additional are fitted with a white gold pin buckle set with 16 baguette-cut diamonds. The price of the diamond-encrusted timepiece is upon request.
