It's extremely annoying when you go somewhere on a holiday and the locals rip you off. That's just what happened to an old Japanese couple in Rome. They were charged $980 for a seafood lunch. They were served with a bill of $810 plus $160 in tip for ordering pasta and lobster with wine and gelato at the Il Passetto restaurant near the Piazza Navona square. They filed a fraud complaint with the police. This 149 year old restaurant was shut within days by health inspectors due to hygiene reasons. "As far as I'm concerned, this restaurant should never reopen again and operating licenses should be revoked for things of this nature," Mayor Gianni Alemanno said. This kind of thing happens in Italy all the time. The restaurants owner in his defense said, "They ordered 12 oysters, two kilos of lobsters, wine, 1.5 kg of seabass and even took photos with the waiters before leaving."

Michael Jackson’s final resting place will be a solid bronze, 14k Gold plated casket worth $25,000, featuring a plush blue velvet interior and a hand-polished, mirror finish. The casket, called Promethean was ordered last night from Batesville Casket Company and is quite similar to the one used to bury soul singer James Brown. Jackson’s funeral will be held at the Staples Center, the home of LA Lakers on the coming Tuesday.

The items were auctioned by owners who had previously purchased them from Christies and Juliens as well as from the woman who purchased the star’s home after her death. Among the items which managed to rake in a lot of moolah was a vintage necklace made of glass stones accompanied by the stars photo wearing it fetched $63,000 (A surprise since auctioneers expected it to fetch somewhere between $4000- $6000).A cotton leopard print scarf which Monroe apparently wore during her 1954 honeymoon in Japan with Joe DiMaggio also featured in the auction and fetched $8300 (again higher than its estimate of $3,000-$4,000).
