Dubai and China have been up in arms to grab the title of biggest and tallest structures like towers, hotels and malls. China is taking the lead by opening the world’s largest building in Chengdu. The New Century Global Center claims to be the largest freestanding building in the world boasting of mammothic dimensions – 500 meters long, 400 meters wide and 100 meters high. To get it more clear, the size of this colossal structure is as large as 20 Sydney Opera Houses or three Pentagons.
The 1.7-million-square-meter building spreads out to accommodate offices, shopping malls, five-star hotels, a Mediterranean village, an indoor beach, a water park, a 14-screen IMAX Cineplex and a huge ice-skating rink.
