Pink Diamond Barbie Doll by The Blonds worth $15,000 up for auction


The world’s beloved Barbie doll now lends her support to a philanthropic cause in an inimitable manner. A one-of-a-kind pink diamond Barbie doll by duo Phillipe and David Blond of The Blond in partnership with Matetl Principal Designer Bill Greening debuted at The Blond’s New York Fashion Week SS ’13 show. This unique pink head-turner is now on auction till 25th September 2012, the proceeds from which will be donated to the MAC Aids Fund Organization. While originally estimated at $15,000, the bid at the time of writing this post was $3,000.

What sets this Barbie doll apart is that her fuchsia and rose ‘gem’ encrusted mini corset dress and pumps have been created and painstakingly hand-embellished by The Blonds themselves. The stunner is replete with her trademark platinum luscious locks, luxe faux fur coat, pink studded earrings, and a pink sparkling ring as well.
