Fendi creates fashion history with its first plus sized runway models

Inclusivity in the fashion world is a far cry. However, changing things one at a time is premium fashion brand – Fendi that recently had models – Paloma Elsesser and Jill Kortleve walk for the brand’s fall 2020 runway show in Milan. The duo is the first ‘plus-size’ pair to feature in a Fendi show and that in itself speaks volumes of the brand’s resolve for change.

Commenting on this, Paloma posted to Instagram with the caption that read – “For once, I literally have no words! I would simply like to express my gratitude for this monumental moment. Thank you to everyone involved.” The post won immense praise from social media users and went on to be a viral hit. Fellow Model Bella Hadid also commented on it with the words – “My President”, while lovingly referring to Paloma.

At the show, the pair walked alongside the likes of Gigi and Bella Hadid and Kaia Gerber. While Elsesser sported a soft yellow tailored jacket with a wide belt that cinched at the waist, Kortleve sported a chic all-black outfit and a sleek belt complete with metallic accents. Overall the collection arched towards a futuristic theme with light, dove gray and subtle-pink hues dominating the runway. Well, here’s a shout-out to Fendi for starting what could be the first of many size-inclusivity movements in fashion! Hoot Hoot!
