Ralph Lauren marks 15 years of the Pink Pony with a new range

While some designers fight for the protection and ethical treatment of animals, others do it for fellow humans. Ralph Lauren might appear like one of his frozen mannequins but the man has a heart. Some 20 years ago he made a tryst with a battle against breast cancer since his close friend and former fashion editor of The Washington Post Nina Hyde fell victim to the silent beast. And after establish the Nina Hyde Center for Breast Cancer Research at Georgetown University Medical Center he launched in 2000 the Pink Pony campaign. The range of apparel and accessories featuring a pink pony was marketed, and proceeds from the sale would be directed towards the Breast Cancer Foundation.

To mark the 15th anniversary of the Pink Pony, the collection will include the Polo mesh, long sleeve and short sleeves t-shirts, sweatpants, hoodies as well as, for the first time – Pink Pony Drawstring bags in two sizes and colours – a medium Ricky drawstring in black, lined with pink Nappa leather and a small Ricky drawstring in the same colour as the Pink Pony.
