Stone, glass, bamboo and shiny iPhones – Apple’s newest store in Macau looks more like a spa house

Foster + Partners have created a fittingly modern and slick retail space for Apple in Macau. The store is intended to be a calm and tranquil oasis, a respite in the middle of the bustling and busy city.

The cubic building appears to be growing out of a bamboo grove creating a strong element of contrast between the modern stone and glass building and the surrounding greenery.

The bamboo theme continues inside where it provides a natural foil to the minimal and modern interiors.

The two level building features a large central skylight which illuminates the indoor bamboo grove.

In true Apple style, the space is sparse and filled with natural light during the day thanks to large windows.
