VOX cinema in the UAE has always had fine taste. Its Theatre by Rhodes is example of this finesse. Keeping in line with this lineage of offering the best to movie-goers and luxury enthusiasts, VOX now brings a modern Japanese treat by signing up with renowned Michelin star chef Akira Back.
The Korean-born Las Vegas-based chef is well known for his signature style of Asian cuisine with a ‘US flair’ including the sazzy sounding tuna pizza and Wagyu tacos.
This month, a specially crafted menu will be available in UAE cinemas, and is expected to spread to other places in the region later this year, including Bahrain, Qatar and Kuwait.
Guests will have the choice of dining in an exclusive private lounge, or even have their order delivered to their seat using the in-theatre waiter service. This, with the luxurious offering of the THEATRE’s reclining leather seats, plush blankets and pillows and audio-visual technology making the experience ‘out of this world’ is just the kind of treat some may need every once in a while to escape the harshness of the realities of the world …
Currently, UAE residents can enjoy this treat in the following locations – Mall of the Emirates, City Centre Mirdif and Nakheel Mall in Dubai and Al Jimi Mall, Nation Towers, The Galleria Al Maryah Island and Yas Mall in Abu Dhabi.
Dubai is not entirely unaware of chef Akira however. Akira Back on the Palm has been a favourite haunt for connoisseurs of modern fusion cuisine.
Chef Akira, a former professional snowboarder, currently has restaurants around the globe, including some impressive addresses like Beverly Hills, Seychelles, San Diego, Singapore, Toronto as well as his Michelin star restaurant, Dosa in Seoul.
