Masque brings a blindfolded wine-and- dine experience

In a culinary and sensory adventure you’ve certainly never come across, experimental diners like you and me will be treated to an exuberant 6-course tasting menu paired with a collection of carefully curated wines by SoHo Wine Club. Why do we love the concept so much already? Well, because for starters you’ll be blindfolded! Mumbai’s culinary concept Masque in association with SoHo Wine Club is collaborating to bring us a “Dialogue in the Dark”.

“The idea is for guests to rely on every sense other than sight to experience their meal. Your first interaction with a dish is almost always visual – take that away, and you’re at the mercy of the rest of your senses. It’s daunting, but also makes you hypersensitive to the sounds, textures, and smells around you,” says Masque’s head chef Prateek Sadhu.

Sonal Holland, India’s only Master of Wine and the Founder of SoHo Wine Club adds, “In wine tasting, the aromatic expression of a wine is of prime importance and a tell—tale for what is to come on the palate. Blind-tasting of wines is both exciting and explorative. We want our guests to experience the unexpected; the only thing one should expect is excellent food, delicious wine and an evening of revelry.”
