Adorned with 25,000 crystals here is the Swarovski star for the 2014 Rockefeller Center Christmas tree

One of our festive favorite moments every year is the unveiling of the iconic Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree- the vast and beautifully decorated tree is always popular with tourists and locals alike in New York and each year, we wait with baited breath for the moment when the stunning tree will be revealed. 2014 will be the 11th year that the tree will be crowned with a Swarovski Crystal star. This year’s star is comprised of 25,000 crystals, with 1,000,000 facets, measuring 9 ½ feet in diameter and 1 ½ feet deep. Weighing 550 pounds, the star will be the topping ornament on the 85-foot high, 46-foot wide, 13-ton Norway Spruce tree.

The 82nd Rockefeller Center Tree Lighting Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, December 3, from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. You can watch the two-hour ceremony live locally on WNBC-TV from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. and nationally on NBC from 8:00 – 9:00 p.m. The star has been unveiled in the past by celebrities like Olivia Wilde, Blake Lively, Fergie, Christie Brinkley, Maria Menounos and Nadja Swarovski.
