Some say matches are made in heaven, but aviation influencer Sam Chui, one of the world’s most prominent aviation content creators, proved it. In a style only an aviation enthusiast could pull off, the 44‑year‑old Beijing‑born vlogger celebrated his recent wedding to cabin‑crew member Fiona not just with a Boeing‑themed bash, but literally inside one. On July 12, Chui and Fiona took to the skies for a “Sky Wedding” aboard a chartered Boeing 747‑400 at Fujairah International Airport (FJR), flying a round‑trip journey over the Gulf of Oman.

The wedding venue, truly out of this world, is one of several aircraft the Moldovan airline Terra Avia uses primarily for Hajj charters. This time, however, the theme inside was not prayer but party. The 24‑year‑old aircraft looked almost brand‑new, with floral decorations that began on the boarding stairs and continued into the cabin, where the aisle became a pastel‑flower pathway lined with smiling faces and raised glasses.

While the couple had already tied the knot, they celebrated in all‑white attire, cut a large wedding cake, and even hosted a dance party for their guests onboard the 747. The aircraft is enormous, configured with 26 business‑class and 450 economy‑class seats and provides plenty of room for all the wedding fun.

Sam Chui, who calls himself “the citizen of the sky,” has about 931 K Instagram followers and is an accomplished Chinese‑Australian aviation and travel vlogger. His fascination with airplanes began when, as a child, he often visited Hong Kong’s former Kai Tak Airport and watched planes land. Chui’s aviation journey is remarkable: he has flown on 240 airlines and 180 aircraft types, yet this sky‑wedding adventure may well top the list for the man who was once the sole passenger aboard the world’s only privately owned Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
