Here’s a point to note for aspiring track-only hypercar owners out there: when you buy a multi-million dollar track toy, don’t expect to be taking a test drive anywhere but the racetrack. Manny Khoshbin found this out the hard way, after taking delivery of his $4.7 million Bugatti Bolide.

Hoping to fire it up and drive it into his garage, Khoshbin was told that the car would be pushed in instead since its cooling system doesn’t have onboard fans to keep the monstrous W16 engine from overheating.

As seen in a video posted to Khoshbin’s YouTube channel, the Bolide was delivered on its street shoes, with its special track wheels and tires packed neatly away in boxes. Before Khoshbin even could sample the engine note, the car was hoisted up in the air using the onboard pneumatic jack system, and the track slicks were installed.

Given that the track wheels lower the car even more than the standard wheels, Khoshbin was given instructions to transport the car on its regular wheels and tires only.

Fortunately for the millionaire, he did get a chance to fire the engine up and reverse it into his garage, being careful to do so quickly before the engine overheated. Being a track-only hypercar, the Bolide needs external fans that affix to the bodywork like an F1 car, to help cool it down. Also like a purebred race car, it only runs on 102-octane gas that can only be filled via a race car-style fuel bowser.

Bugatti includes all the instructions in a lengthy owner’s manual, which Khoshbin is instructed to read before using the car. Bugatti provides owners with track-day experiences so they can fully exploit their car’s potential in the environment it was built for. Here’s hoping Khoshbin’s car actually gets to see the track and isn’t destined for a life in a garage, no matter how impressive the garage is.
