Ahead of its debut at the Paris auto show, Mercedes has unveiled a pair of open-top versions of the AMG-GT Coupe. The AMG GT Roadster which is the base model will pack in a 4.0 liter BiTurbo V8 generating 469 hp that will take the open-top from a standstill to 62 mph in 3.7 seconds. For the more enthusiastic there is the GT C Roadster, which gets more output at 550 hp and 502 lb-ft of torque. It has larger wheels, bigger fenders, a Lithium-Ion battery to shave off some weight, and an active rear-axle steering system taken from the AMG GT-R. A system that lets the rear wheel turn in the opposite direction delivering higher agility with less steering input.
Both the models have a soft-top, and according to the company, they can come up or down in 11 seconds. Pricing is not known but the AMG-GT Roadsters will be arriving at showrooms in the fall of 2017.
