It’s the father of the 911’s 90th birthday, and 90 lucky Porsche fans get the ultimate present: a limited-edition GT3 featuring fabric from his favorite jacket, a reimagination of the first chronograph he designed, and matching luggage

Ferdinand Alexander Porsche transformed automotive design through his revolutionary approach to form and function. Grandson of the founder of Porsche, F. A. Porsche created the legendary 911 in the early 1960s. To commemorate what would have been F. A. Porsche’s 90th birthday, Porsche’s Sonderwunsch division has created the best birthday gift a Porsche fan could ever hope for. Working alongside his youngest son, Mark Porsche, who will receive one of the 90 examples, the team developed the 911 GT3 90 F. A. Porsche.

Before we get to the details, here’s a little context to understand just how important F.A. Porsche was to the company. He and his brother Hans-Peter founded Porsche Design in 1972. The studio quickly became synonymous with functional elegance, creating the groundbreaking Chronograph I wristwatch and the innovative P’8478 sunglasses with interchangeable lenses.

These objects became design classics through their timeless appeal and practical brilliance. F. A. Porsche’s death in 2012 ended an extraordinary career, but his design legacy continues inspiring modern creations through Studio F. A. Porsche in Austria.

This collector’s model draws inspiration from F. A. Porsche’s personal G-Series 911 from the 1980s. The exclusive F. A. Greenmetallic paint mirrors his beloved Oakgreenmetallic finish. Inside, Truffle Brown Club leather upholstery features seat centers covered in F. A. grid-weave fabric, the pattern from his favorite jackets. An open-pore walnut gear knob, Sport Chrono based on the iconic Chronograph I he designed, adds the sort of intimate touches that should delight 911 fans.

Based on the 911 GT3 with Touring Package, the anniversary model features a naturally-aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six engine with 510 horsepower. Satin-gloss black Sport Classic wheels and Heritage Design elements complete the exterior.

Buyers also receive an exclusive Chronograph 1 special edition with F. A.’s initials above the date display and a matching weekender bag crafted from the same materials adorning the interior. Orders begin in April 2026, with production starting later that year for the $387,000 tribute supercar. A true Porsche fan can really ask for no more.
