As any car enthusiast will tell you, it’s always the thrill of the chase that makes all the heartache worthwhile when it comes to chasing down dream cars. Every now and then, the chase does pay off, like in the case of YouTuber Ed Bolian aka VinWiki hunting down the rarest Lamborghini in existence: the 1-of-1 Victoria’s Secret Diablo SV ‘VS’. Prepared specially for the 1998 Victoria’s Secret Christmas catalog, this Diablo was hidden away in rural Illinois, parked for over 14 years. Of course, getting it back to its former glory is no small feat. Especially considering a minor oil leak caused by a 2 cent O-ring needs the entire V12 engine to be removed – an over 7-hour long job.

In previous videos uploaded by Ed Bolian on his YouTube channel, the Victoria’s Secret Lambo is purchased, the history of the car examined alongside WeAreCurated’s John Temerian, and the car got up and running with the help of DC MotorWerks.

While the fearsome Diablo SV’s naturally-aspirated 5.7-liter V12 does seem to come out of hibernation with no major hiccups, the team at DC MotorWerks notices an oil leak that does need attention.

The culprit? A 2 cent O-ring. Unfortunately for Ed Bolian, it’s a 2 cent O-ring that’s buried deep inside the engine block, requiring the hulking V12 to be removed. Italian supercars are known for many things, ease of repair not being one of them. With the team tearing into the innards of the Victoria’s Secret Lambo, each nut and bolt removed brings them one step closer to their goal. Of course, being a YouTube build, the team decides to go the whole hog and rebuild the entire engine, an adventure covered in a separate video.

For car enthusiasts, and Victoria’s Secret fans of course, the Victoria’s Secret Diablo represents peak ‘90s supercar. To see it being brought back to its former glory is something of a treat in itself. One can only hope that Ed Bolian arranges for a photoshoot with the original models from that 1998 shoot to commemorate the Diablo’s return to the limelight.
