After Coco Chanel, Marilyn Monroe, Catherine Deneuve, Lauren Hutton, Nicole Kidman, and Audrey Tautou, here it is, the first Chanel No.5 advertisement featuring a male. The ad was shot in London by Anna Karenina filmmaker Joe Wright, who had previously worked on Chanel’s 2011 spots for Coco Mademoiselle. Filmed in black and white apart from the golden perfume bottle, the ad features Brad Pitt pondering in a seductive voice – ‘It’s not a journey. Every journey ends, but we go on. The world turns, and we turn with it. Plans disappear, dreams take over, but wherever I go, there you are, my luck; my fate, my fortune. Chanel No.5, inevitable.”
