Range Rover Velar facelift launched in India at Rs 94.30 lakh; available with both petrol and diesel engine options

JLR (formerly Jaguar Land Rover) has officially launched the Range Rover Velar facelift in India, with the prices starting at Rs 94.30 lakh (ex-showroom). The updated Velar will only be available in a single HSE trim level, while customers will be able to choose between petrol and diesel powertrain options. The Velar facelift made its global debut back in February this year and the Tata-owned automaker had previously revealed the pricing to be Rs 93 lakh in July. In terms of updates received by the luxury SUV, the exterior design features minor tweaks which include a revised grille, a redesigned rear bumper and taillights, and the addition of new Pixel LED headlights with a revised daytime running lamp signature.

The upgrades made to the cabin of the Velar facelift are much more significant. The most noticeable change comes in the form of a completely redesigned dashboard that brings it in line with the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport. It features a new 11.4-inch touchscreen that runs Land Rover’s Pivi Pro system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The interior is upholstered in Windsor leather and is available in two tasteful themes: Caraway/Ebony and Deep Garnet/Ebony. Other features found in the updated Velar include a wireless charging pad, four-zone temperature control, driver-seat memory settings, an air purifier, and an onboard Amazon Alexa assistant. The 400-watt Meridian sound system gets an 11-speaker setup which provides an immersive audio experience.

The 2024 Range Rover Velar is available with two engine options. The first is a 2.0-litre diesel engine that produces 201bhp and 430Nm of torque, which is enough to propel the SUV from 0 to 100km/h in 8.3 seconds. The other powertrain option is the 2.0-litre petrol unit with 296bhp and 400Nm of torque, which can power the Velar to 100km/h in 7.5 seconds. Both engine options are equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission and include the Terrain Response 2 system from the manufacturer. The updated Velar will continue to lock horns with the likes of the BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz GLE in India.
