The JW Marriott Juhu opens doors to Saffron, its new Indian specialty restaurant

There’s nothing better than a hearty Indian meal to uplift one’s spirits! And in understanding this emotion and catering to it with perfection, the JW Marriott Juhu has recently opened doors to ‘Saffron’ – a novel Indian specialty restaurant like no other.

Bringing a refreshed take on familiar favorites with inspired techniques and local ingredients, the restaurant is named after the world’s most precious spice (Kesar), which is widely used in the Indian subcontinent. It aims to celebrate rich indigenous produce and responsibly sourced ingredients through its menu which includes the following:

For appetizers, one can relish delicacies such as Asparagus Galouti Kebabs, Kashmiri Gucchi, Backwaters Meen Chatti Curry cooked in the traditional earthenware ‘chatti,’ crunchy Rajasthani Raj, Mangalorean Confit Duck, buttery Wild Mushrooms Mascarpone Chilies Truffle Kulcha, the refreshing Watermelon, and Guac Chaat and a unique take on Pani Puri.

Further, the main course delights the senses with the dhungar Smoked Buttermilk Lamb, chargrilled Gondhoraj Tandoori Prawns, stir-fried Uttaranchal Saag, and velvety Lobster Moilee, amongst others, while the dessert collection offers Berry & Brioche Tukda (Saffron’s take on the Shahi Tukda), Gold Jamun (anjeer and gulab jamun), Chenna (stuffed cottage cheese, sweetened milk, rose and Saffron) and 64% Cocoa Mousse (almond, sea salt, and berries).

Those looking for refreshing drinks can sample the restaurant’s signature Saffron cocktails, including Saquila (Saffron infused tequila), Saffroni (our ode to a white Negroni), Saffron Sparkler (Prosecco, vodka, and passion fruit), Chai Tales (Whisky, black tea decoction, orange, and house-made bitters). Alternatively, they can ask for a glass of their choicest whiskey ranging from Glenmorangie Signet, Clynelish 14 YO, The Glenlivet Nadurra, Aberlour 18 YO, and Glenlivet 18 YO.

The restaurant’s décor is also tastefully designed (by P.G. Located in the heart of the city, a visit to JW Marriott’s ‘Saffron’ is what beckons us this weekend! What about you?
