Some people make hay even when the sun isn’t shining! You don’t believe me? Check this out: the Boot Jack Ranch located in southwest Colorado fetched a whopping $46.5 million, despite the downturn in the US real estate market, earning it the most expensive residential transaction for the year 2010. The estate, which occupies 3000 acres in the San Juan Mountain Range, can house 50 guests. The 14,000 square-foot homes are located amidst 6 lakes, an Olympic-sized pool, grazing pastures for livestock, and 7 miles of fly fishing on the San Juan River’s West Fork.
The house itself has a library, fitness room and a 1,500 bottle wine cellar, along with a host of spacious guest cabins. With an original list price of $88, the Wall Street Journal reports that the property’s owner, Texan billionaire Kelcy Warren actually got it at a neat bargain.
