Airbus just put a Mercedes-Benz Maybach interior inside a $10 million ACH145 helicopter

Airbus has decided that stepping out of a Mercedes should not feel like changing worlds. With the debut of the ACH145 Mercedes-Benz Edition, the European aerospace giant has effectively lifted the design language of Stuttgart’s most luxurious sedans and SUVs and sent it 20,000 feet into the sky, creating a helicopter that feels less like a machine and more like a flying flagship lounge.

Developed by Airbus Corporate Helicopters in collaboration with Mercedes-Benz, the limited-run model was unveiled in São Paulo, one of the busiest helicopter markets in the world. The idea is deliberate and calculated. A client can step out of a chauffeured Mercedes sedan or SUV and into a rotorcraft that mirrors the same materials, proportions, and atmosphere, eliminating the visual and tactile disruption that usually comes with switching from road to air.

Inside, the cabin carries unmistakable Maybach cues, including the double-M insignia and a layout defined by flowing architectural forms rather than exposed aviation hardware. Sculpted seats wrapped in leather with diamond stitching face one another in an executive configuration, while genuine wood flooring and metallic accents elevate the space beyond traditional helicopter utility. Airbus describes the interior as open and curved, a deliberate attempt to translate the solidity of the G-Class into an airborne setting without sacrificing elegance.

Buyers are offered six curated interior themes named Atlas, Meteor, Phoenix, Zenith, Polaris, and Solaris, each tuned to a different mood from restrained executive to assertively sporty. Those unimpressed by predefined palettes can commission a fully bespoke cabin, aligning the helicopter’s interior with a yacht, a penthouse, or a personal fleet of vehicles. Customization at this level is assumed rather than optional.

Beneath the polished surfaces lies Airbus’s latest five-blade H145 platform, a twin-engine helicopter engineered for both performance and refinement. The updated rotor system reduces vibration and noise while increasing useful payload by 150 kilograms compared with the earlier Mercedes-Benz Style edition. The aircraft cruises at 137 knots, roughly 158 miles per hour, and offers a range of nearly four hours, with capacity for up to eight passengers. Airbus frames that performance as comparable to a high-output SUV such as the Mercedes-AMG G 63, reinforcing the continuity between land and sky.

This partnership is not new. Mercedes-Benz and Airbus have collaborated for 16 years and have already delivered 26 examples of the previous-generation ACH145 with Mercedes styling. Airbus has also worked with brands such as Aston Martin, underscoring a broader strategy that merges aviation engineering with established luxury identities.

Pricing has not been officially confirmed, yet previous builds suggest a starting point around $10 million. At that figure, the ACH145 Mercedes-Benz Edition is not merely transportation but an extension of a luxury ecosystem, designed for owners who expect their mobility experience to remain consistent from driveway to heliport to open sky.
