Penelope Cruz designs a handbag collection for Loewe

The current face of Loewe, Penelope Cruz, with sister Monica, recently designed a handbag collection for the brand. Both the sisters worked along with Creative Director Stuart Vevers to create the new Cruz Collection. What an apt way for Vevers to bid goodbye to the brand before taking up his new role at Coach. The collection is an extensive range, including purses, wallets, and cross-body bags with outside pockets (in various colors) made especially for the busy working woman.

Hailing from Espanol origin, each bag from the Cruz Collection has a Spanish touch, giving more importance to functionality. This is not the first design venture that the sisters have undertaken. They have previously created a capsule collection for Mango, have designed bags for Japanese label Samantha Thavasa, and are soon scheduled to unveil a lingerie line for Agent Provocateur.

Penelope says that she enjoys working with her sister, as they are both like-minded and “usually like the same things.” Kudos to that!
