Vertu Aster luxury smartphone sails through FCC, to be launched soon

It’s been only a couple of months since Vertu introduced its flagship luxury smartphone Signature Touch, but the British luxury brand is ready to add another premium Android phone to its range. Named Vertu Aster, the upcoming luxury smartphone is close to launch as earlier this week it was approved by the FCC, as well as by China’s Telecommunication Equipment Certification Center. The handset shares a lot of design elements with the Signature Touch, but both the Vertu handsets don’t exactly look identical either. Nevertheless, most of the hardware for both the phones appears to be the same.

The Vertu Aster sports a 4.7-inch display with 1080 x 1920 pixels, and offers: LTE connectivity, NFC, 2 MP front-facing camera, 13 MP rear camera, quad-core 2.3 GHz Snapdragon processor, 2 GB of RAM, and 64 GB of internal memory. The phone weighs 195 grams with a thickness of 11mm and runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat with special UI treatment by Vertu. It has a titanium chassis with the backplate wrapped in leather. The phone is listed to be available in a number of different colors including black, blue, red, brown, orange and pink. There is no word on the pricing and the availability but it would most probably be positioned below the Signature Touch and above the Constellation.
