When it comes to writing instruments, Montblanc is a notch up. Amongst its many noted offerings, the marquee introduced the ‘Meisterstück Le Petit Prince’ Special Edition’ series in 2018 which was based upon the well-loved eponymous novella by French aristocrat and writer – Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. Here’s presenting the third and last piece in the collection called ‘The Planet’.
Following the book’s reference that speaks of the little prince who cares for his planet and his beloved rose that grows there, the writing instrument feature an engraving of the said Prince as he weeds his planet on a polished handcrafted 14-karat gold nib. The cap and barrel of the pen are offered in polished resin in a rich shade of burgundy (an ode to the Prince’s rose), further matched in style by champagne-toned gold-coated fittings.
The Meisterstück Le Petit Prince Doué Classique comes with a gold-plated cap etched with stars and the name of the Little Prince’s asteroid home- “B 612,” while the Meisterstück Le Petit Prince Solitaire Le Grand Edition is crafted from European hornbeam wood with a wood cap decorated with a milled star pattern featuring B612 on the backside of the cap. The clip of each pen features a lacquered golden color star while the cap beams of the words: “On ne voit bien qu’avec le coeur” that translate to “One sees clearly only with the heart”.
