In pleasing coffee connoisseurs in the UK, Queens of Mayfair, a central London café is now serving the Ethiopian ‘Cup of Excellence’ Coffee – a filtered brew that costs a whopping $64 or £50 per cup. Made using rare beans that recently fetched around £2,000 per kilogram at auction, the coffee is light, fruity, and floral in flavor.
To make the unique concoction, the beans are ground by hand, brewed in a V-shaped filter with fine paper to let the coffee come through drip by drip, before being served in a crystal wine glass. Commenting on it, Queens co-owner Victoria Shepherd said: ‘We pride ourselves on the finest produce throughout our menu at Queens of Mayfair, to have such a rare and highly sought after coffee to offer true connoisseur highlights the standards we are aiming for.’
The luscious beans that make the brew have won first place at the Cup of Excellence Competition and boast an industry grading of 94 out of 95 Only 15 servings of the costly brew are available at Queens of Mayfair, so if you want to get your hands on one, you may want to hurry up!
