Who needs a bed – This luxury hotel in the Maldives allows you to sleep on a net over the turquoise ocean


Nothing beats falling asleep to the sound of the gentle ocean and providing you an opportunity to do just that is The Grand Park Kodhipparu resort in the Maldives. In a deluxe offering of sorts, the hotel is now inviting guests to lull over ‘net beds’ in all its over-water accommodations. The feature is already an Instagram hit with travelers from the world over now rushing to secure their spots on the Kodhipparu resort’s netted wonders.


Located on its own island on the North Male Atoll, The Grand Park Kodhipparu resort in the Maldives can be reached via a 20-minute speedboat ride from the airport. It boasts a total of 120 villas, with most of them being perched over the water and some on the beachfront. The much-touted -for over-water hammock beds are located in the water facing villas that cost $400 per night each and also feature a swimming pool.

Commenting on the netted beds, Arushi Gupta, the resort’s marketing manager, in a statement said, ‘Each villa, apart from the beach villas, have the over-water beds installed and they have proven to be one of the most Instagrammable spots. She further added, ‘We receive an overwhelming response from our guests all of the time.’ Water-facing facilities are becoming quite a hit in a Maldives, with many resorts building ingenious features to cater to the wishes of their guests. Back in 2017, the Soneva Jani resort also unveiled a luxe 1 BHK villa with an in-room water slide much to the social media buffs. Well, looks like aqua and luxe go hand-in-hand after all!
