Million dollar water park planned for Manhattan dogs at the Hudson River Park

If you ever wondered what sort of glamorous lives did the pedigree class of citizens in Manhattan lead, you should check out the upcoming “luxury dog run” for the upcoming $6.5 million renovations of TriBeCa’s Hudson River Park. This oval dog run is scheduled to open two years hence and will include separate areas for large and small dogs, a dog-sized drinking fountain, and gray-blue pavement designed to appear vibrant blue through a dog’s color-blind eyes. The dog run’s centerpiece will be staged near the base of Pier 26 at Hubert Street, which will offer a playful water fountain that gets activated when the dog hops on a bollard.

Besides this, there will be umbrellas all around to keep dogs cool in the summer for it will be a while before the planted trees will grow to provide enough shade. Given the present state of the economy, we are not quite sure if this was the need of the hour but probably we’ll change our views when we see this park live and kicking.
