Porsche has special plans for the 911’s 50th anniversary

It’s been half a century since the first Porsche 911 showed up at the 1963 Frankfurt Auto Show and wooed the world. Now, 50 years later, the German automaker will unveil a special tribute to mark the 911’s anniversary. The company has kept its plans for the car’s 50th anniversary a secret. Though if guesses prove to be right, the company could indeed showcase a special edition 911 commemorating the car’s 50th birthday!

The car could most likely make an appearance at the 2013 Frankfurt Auto Show next September. Besides this, Porsche has also drawn up plans to unveil the track-ready GT3, the Turbo grand tourer, the Targa, and the GT2 supercar with RS versions of the GT3 and GT2 also to be rolled out.
