Everyone knows about the high life the kids of the rich and powerful lead, but not everyone has seen it. Thanks to social media, even this bit of snooping has come to be possible. A rich son of a rich man in Russia, left Russia to roam the world and returned home to see the life of his peers in a different eye. So mesmerized and amused was he by the glitz, glamour and self-obsession, that he came up with the idea to start an Instagram account profiling these ‘richrussiankids’. And, that is also the Instagram handle, in case you want to take a peak.
It has everything – the mink, the yacht, the champagne, the implants, the enhancements, the flashy cars, the frills and the froth. An 18-year old flashing her heels (not diamond-studded though). There is a young man with his pals on a yacht. There is a man walking his pet skunk (or beaver or raccoon). There is someone driving against traffic. And so on. The creator of the page wanted to show how these kids lived for a chance of helping them attract ‘business opportunities’. “The aim is to help wealthy people make acquaintances with whom interesting business projects can be created,” he said. ‘He’ is not named because we do not know ‘he’, as he wishes to remain anonymous. Maybe a fear of a Kalashnikov going through his head. Check it out, let us know what you think. We should have one for Chinese kids, Indian kids, Dubai kids (oh this should be such fun!) and maybe even Egypt, Syria and the lot? Because when else to show off your wealth, other than when the world bleeds with civil wars, recessions, economy bursts, etc?
