A 1935 Mickey Mouse Cel Animation Artwork to go under the hammer


I can’t make up my mind if I love Mickey Mouse more or Donald Duck, but I can safely say that I have enjoyed all the original Disney characters’ escapades. But if you collect authentic Disney merchandise, it doesn’t get better than this! Up for grabs is one of the oldest artworks of the first color cartoon that featured Mickey and the gang.

Called Mickey Mouse, The Band Concert Production Cel Animation Art (Walt Disney, 1935) is the first promotional artwork for the show. Touted to be the only piece of production setup currently existing, what makes the art rarer is that it’s one of the few paintings featuring all the Mickey Gang characters. Professionally restored by Ron Stark of S/R Laboratories, the 12″ x 9.5″ picture comes installed inside a 26.75″ x 22.75″ frame. Estimated at $32,500, the current bidding is at $38,837.50.
