The era of NFT’s has dawned! The more you understand it and its growing demand, the more people are willing to splurge. Not too long ago, a virtual patch of land sold for $2.4 million, followed by the sale of the $650,000 Metaflower Super Mega Yacht by Metaverse developer Republic Realm. A rich Snoop Dogg fan is now making the most of the Metaverse by buying a plot next to the icon’s virtual property. The three parcels of ‘digital land’ on Metaverse have sold for a combined total of $1.23 million and occupy the space directly next to Snoop Dogg’s mansion. The most expensive of these three plots were sold in an auction for a whopping $453k or 70,903 SAND.

Each of the three estates consists of a 3×3 square of LAND or nine individual plots that could be broken up and resold. Even in the virtual world, owning land or property next to a celebrity adds value. It looks like real estate trends of the physical world have already carried on to the Metaverse.

An NFT enthusiast, Snoop Dogg congratulated his virtual neighbor.
Virtual land in ‘The Sandbox’ is being sold as NFTs, and these too can be traded like any other NFT on platforms like OpenSea. Only last week, an online piece of land on Decentraland recently fetched a whopping sum of $2.4 million in cryptocurrency while breaking records of every kind.
While the world is getting digitized faster than expected, not everyone is excited about making a trip, leave alone an investment in the Metaverse. An Icelandic tourism campaign jabbed fun at Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and his failure at enjoying the existing, stunning world.
