Review: A French Fiesta with Guest Chef Raphael Szurek at Mezzo Mezzo

Mezzo Mezzo, one of the specialty restaurants of the JW Marriott Mumbai Juhu recently welcomed Chef Raphael Szurek who will showcase his expertise in French cuisine from 20 – 28 September 2019. We went in to try the French Fiesta and absolutely loved the ingenuity it brings to the table.              

Beets

We started off with Organic Farm Beet Dessert Lime with delicious Davidson Plum Sorbet that tastefully infuses healthy with decadence. Next up was the Burrata Cabbage with fermented chili that was all sorts of creamy and luscious. For mains, the Pumpkin  Gnocchi with Red Miso and Toasted Sesame and Conflict Lamb Shoulder with Eggplant and Romaine are simple yet nuanced and lip-smacking feasts in themselves. For dessert, the handcrafted Tofu Orange Sanguine, Chocolate and Cherry with milk foam is unlike any dessert we’ve had before: an ingenious party to our taste-buds.

Gnocchi

The menu here will feature contemporary French delicacies such as King Crab with Avocado and Grapefruit, Red Snapper with Chorizo, Capsicum and Squid, Miso Roasted Seabass with Ginger and Mushroom Dashi and Leek), Confit Salmon Fillet with Aerated Hollandaise and Celeriac Crumbs, Pumpkin, Carrot and Coconut Velouté with Passion Fruit Sorbet, Surf & Turf” Slow Roasted Chicken with Scampi and Morels amongst many others.
