Video – Just painful – Spanish winery is flooded with 50,000 litres of red wine when a massive storage tank bursts open

It was just a few weeks back that we heard about a malfunction at the local Lindt factory which literally caused chocolate snow to spread all over a quaint Swiss town. And in the latest news, a 50,000-litre wine tank at a winery in Spain spilled its contents onto the floor spreading out underneath vehicles parked nearby. Yet another malfunction caused a jet of wine to erupt from the tank at the Bodegas Vitivinos winery in Villamalea. Footage shared on local media shows a sea of red oozing out and covering large areas as it spreads out. Unfortunately, winery workers couldn’t do much about the mishap caused by a break in one of the vats that further caused the explosion of wine and just watched helplessly as the thousands of liters of wine slowly drained away into a nearby field. A video of the spill went viral on Twitter and has been viewed more than 8.2 million times by salivating on-lookers who would’ve loved to savor a drop of that intense dark cherry color.

“Unfortunate. What more surprises will 2020 have for us?” wrote one Twitter user of the spill. Some even funnily compared the video to the haunting scene in Stanley Kubrick’s thriller ‘The Shining’.
