World’s most expensive photograph sells for a staggering $6.5 million

Australian landscape photographer Peter Lik takes the art world by storm by selling his photograph for an earth shattering amount of $6.5 million. The famed photograph was clicked at the Antelope Canyon, Arizona which shows a beam of light that resembles a ghost like figure thus earning the title “Phantom”. This black and white photograph has broken all barriers and now has the tag of the world’s most expensive photograph. It has been purchased by a private collector from Los Angeles who has two previous photographs by Lik.

Art critics argue that photography is a technology and cannot be categorized as art, and it sets you wondering what it is that makes people spend such ridiculous amounts of money on a photograph.
